Responsibilities

As Senior Technology Scout you will drive the development of new innovative technical solutions for RRP's and the related eco-system. This position, working with multiple departments, foster effective cross-functional working relationships (internal and external to PMI) to develop and own a multi-year technology road map, providing PMI with a competitive advantage through scientific understanding and technology.

 

Specific responsibilities:

• Identify and address PMI's unmet needs in terms of new substrates or technology requirements for new product concepts and product improvements
• Create and maintain a multi-year technology road map with proposals for projects to evaluate and implement the most promising technologies                      
• Lead approved projects from initial option definitions, feasibility studies to implementation of prototypes, ensuring successful handover to Product Development, with monitoring to achieve timely and accurate project completion
• Create and sustain relevant network with external technological and scientific partners, through ventures and development contracts
• Facilitate collaboration, dispersion of new ideas and solutions across departments
• Track industrial trends, and competitor activities. Bring new ideas and approaches through external bench marking with external organizations
• Define and maximize PMI's intellectual property (patent) protection strategy, for all new developments, product and processes  

RequiredQualifications

• Engineering or Science Degree or Equivalent*
• 5+ years of experience in  innovation driven projects in Scientific / Engineering function, ideally in a multinational company
• Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles in order to resolve issues in product design, processing equipment development & manufacturing issues
• Proven project management and communication skills – both upward and downwards, and outside the company with various audiences
• Demonstrated ability for "blue sky" thinking and turning this into actual, game changing and commercially viable products supported by strategic agility
• Managerial experience is an asset
• Fluency in English, Armenian is a plus
