Description
The role requires a well-organized, detail oriented individual to coordinate the Quality Inspection process within the Amulsar QA/ QC group. The successful candidate will work effectively within a team environment to coordinate quality surveillance activities at a greenfield mine construction project. Further, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring accurate and timely quality documentation is submitted by the contractors and third-party testing companies employed at the project. Good interpersonal and communication skills will be necessary to be successful in this role.
The role will take direction from the QA/QC Superintendent – Structural/ Mechanical and will support the rest of the QA/ QC team. Tasking and assignment shall be provided by the QA/QC Superintendent – Structural/ Mechanical. Duties are to be performed at a high level of professionalism and moral standards, ensuring the projects' goals of safety, cost and schedule are maintained throughout the work.
Responsibilities
- Work pro-actively with other Quality Personnel, Project Management, Contracts Management and Procurement to meet project quality requirements and objectives;
- Coordinate quality surveillance on structural, mechanical and process equipment being installed at the facility;
- Assist in the organization and checking of Contractor Quality documents specific to all equipment being installed;
- Be in the field working with the contractors to ensure that all Witness and Hold points as identified in the specific Inspection and Test Plans are followed prior to continuing with additional construction activities;
- Gather information pertaining to any quality-related construction concerns in order to identify issues, consult, problem-solve and provide solutions for issues and implement best courses of action,
- Educate and provide recommendations to the project team with regards to project quality management improvements;
- Continuously monitor construction activities for deviations from specifications and ensure deviations are addressed appropriately;
- Document and photograph any deviations from specifications found during the course of construction activities;
- Report any deviations from specifications to the QA/ QC Superintendent – Structural/ Mechanical;
- Verify that any corrective actions implemented as a result of deficiencies identified are resolved within the given time frame;
- Participate in contractor meetings to discuss any quality issues identified during the course of works;
- Coordinate with the installation/construction contractor to ensure a QA/QC presence at the worksite;
- Ensure that all QA and QC activities are understood and implemented by the installation Contractor according to Client standards;
- Maintain open communications with the area managers and project sponsor, reviewing deliverables on a weekly basis with daily updates.
RequiredQualifications
- Degree in Construction, Mechanical or Structural Engineering;
- 2-5 years of varied experience working in a heavy industrial construction environment;
- Experience with, or knowledge of Armenian GOST and IEC standards;
- Experience with using computers;
- Experience with MS Office products (including MS Outlook, Excel and Word);
- Ability to speak English language is essential to the role;
- Ability to deal calmly with constantly changing targets and priorities;
- Ability to handle a very fast paced non-conventional project.
