Welding Supervisor will plan, manage, and optimize the activities of welding personnel and operation in order to safely produce quality welded products in the most efficient manner possible. The successful candidate needs to know the technical aspect of the welding function in depth. He/ she will design and plan the welding operation, and implement the process according to the plan by supervising the team of welders, engineers, technicians and all others who are involved in the process. The Welding Supervisor needs to have experience with all the tools, equipment and welding application required to carry out the welding process. He/ she should also be able to communicate effectively with the engineers, designers, employees and technicians.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in welding and cutting of products and structures, such as pipes, tanks, steel structures, applying knowledge of welding and cutting techniques, materials, and equipment, and fabrication requirements; analyze work orders and blueprints to determine need for supplies and sequence of operations required;
- Responsible for requisition supplies, such as weld rods, gas, flux, and fixtures;
- Inspect work with plant QAQC personnel to maintain specified standards and quality;
- Train workers in operation of equipment;
- Set up machines or make trial welds to make test runs and experimental products upon need;
- Supervise brazing and soldering operations upon need;
- Supervise fitting and assembly of structural frames upon need;
- Supervise workers engaged in making tubing from flat steel strips by electric-weld process and be designated Welding Supervisor, Electric-Weld Pipe Mill;
- Responsible for variations including location of workers supervised, such as in-plant, job-shop, or construction site.

RequiredQualifications
- High school diploma;
- At least 10 years of welding experience;
- Welding certification;
- Ability to demonstrate the proper use of common welding and cutting processes;
- Ability to optimize welding productivity and performance;
- Ability to interpret welding symbols and technical drawings;
- Ability to give clear visual, written, and oral instruction;
- Knowledge of materials and their weldability characteristics;
- Knowledge of filler metal types and characteristics;
- Knowledge of welder and welding safety standards;
- Knowledge of welding inspection;
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- Strong speaking, writing, and listening skills;
- Strong leadership skills.
